Range: Medium to Long
Extra: Explodes after a few seconds after hitting soft tissue.

Type-51 Directed Energy Rifle / Improved

Plasma Repeater
Other Names: Plasma Repeater
Ammo: Superheated Plasma
Range: Close to Close-mid
Extra: Rate of fire will slow down (but accuracy will increase) as it’s fired and the weapon heats up.

Type-52 Guided Munitions Launcher / Explosive

Plasma Launcher
Other Names: The Plasma Launcher, The Blow Everything Up Gun
Ammo: Super heated plasma blots
Range: Everywhere
Extra: Up to 4-bolt burst, tracking vehicles similar to the needler and stick, takes time to charge like the spartan laser

M319 Individual Grenade Launcher

Grenade Launcher
Other Names: Grenade Launcher
Ammo: 40mm Grenades
Range: Close to Long
Extra: Hold down trigger after launching and the round will lay dormant until an unsuspecting enemy walks over it, then boom!

Type-52 Special Applications Rifle (or T52 SAR)

Focus Rifle
Other Names: Focus Rifle, Gator Ray, Alligator Gun (due to the front of the weapon looking like a allilator’s nose)
Ammo: Concentrated Beam
Range: Long
Extra: Continuous purple beam like the sentinel beam.

Target Locator

Other Names: Green Laser Beam Pointer
Extra: When the target has been aquired by a ship above a blue circle is projected on the ground. A small scale orbital bombardment is launched causing several large blasts from the sky doing a large amout of area damage. Hell yeh…

Halo: Reach Limited Edition New Xbox 360 Announced

Major Nelson has just posted to his flickr account.

This really does look impressive, but if you already have the limited edition Halo Xbox 360, is it worth justifying having 2 Xbox?

I can tell you I’m tempted… What do you think?

It gets better! I’ve just been informed that the console makes a Halo inspired sound when you turn it on, and another one (shield power up) when you eject the drive!! w00t!

Initial Armory Inventory picture unveiled by Bungie

Make of the title what you will.. but it seems Master Chief and Cortana will make an appearance in Halo: Reach.

Bungie state they’re there as their voices are used in Fire Fight mode, but we can only hope there’s something more..

Playable characters? Avatars? only time will tell…

Normal, Limited or Legendary Edition?

As I’m sure you are aware by now Halo: Reach is being released later this year on the 14th September. This release will be the last in the Halo series from Bungie.
To celebrate this launch 3 editions of Halo: Reach will be available, here’s a run down of what to expect to find it each:

Normal Edition

‘Does exactly what it says on the tin’ you get the game and manual in a normal Xbox 360 style case featuring all of the levels, weapons, mulit-player, co-op modes and loads more, see Halo: Reach information from Bungie.

Halo Reach

Limited Edition

As well as the game and manual, the limited edition comes in a custom case modeled after a recovered ONI data module.

In it you also get an Elite armor set that you can use in Halo: Reach’s multiplayer modes.

An Embroided Spartan II patch.

An Artifact Bag that contains the personal notes, documents and ONI Security Badge from Dr. Catherine Halsey who was the original creator of the SPARTAN program.

Legendary Edition

The big one! As well as everything in the normal and limited edition you also receive an impressive 10-pound, 10-inch statue of the Noble Team the heros of Halo: Reach. The statue is hand painted and numbered.

An exclusive in game Spartan Armor (which is rumoured to be the Bungie flaming helmet!!).

All this packaged in a UNSC-themed box.

So which to get?! In short if you have never played Halo, Halo: Reach will be a great place to start and without investing too much you can get to see what all the fuss is about with the normal game.

If you’ve played Halo before you’ll probably most likely not be satisfied with the normal edition and want something extra. The Limited edition pack is great and comes with a whole host of extras to satisfy those needs.

Legendary edition… If like me you are true Halo fan and have been a fan of Bungie’s mastery in so many aspects of gaming and have followed them throughout the entire Halo series then this one’s for you. Ok it’s more expensive but a small price to pay for all the hard work and dedication that they’ve put in over the past 10 years. Time to move the legendary Halo 3 helmet over a bit and have it watched over by the Noble Team.
